An AGV follows fixed routes (a line on the floor or barcodes), which makes it very predictable and easy to validate. An AMR with SLAM navigation builds a map of the plant and replans its route when it finds obstacles, so it adapts to layouts that change.
Which one fits?
- Stable, repetitive routes: an AGV is usually enough.
- Changing layouts, foot traffic or forklifts: an AMR avoids stoppages caused by obstacles.
- Mixed fleets: SEER’s RDS system coordinates both types from a single console.
Schedule a visit and we will simulate the routes in your plant before you invest.
